Work was sent home with the children if parents wished to complete it at home. This work was to last the duration of the school closure. Unfortunately, an announcement made today by the Education Minister, has made it clear that we will not be returning to school in late March as originally anticipated. If parents would like to download similiar worksheets to keep children practising their writing skills, the website 'twinkl' is an excellent resource to use. At present they are offering a one month free membership, go to www.twinkl.ie/offer and enter the code: IRLTWINKLHELPS.
I also use Starfall.com in class for phonics, maths and stories but unfortunately it requires a subscription fee. However there are a lot of websites on the page I sent home that offer free alternatives.
If your child enjoys maths, they will have completed work from the Planet Maths series. Its publisher 'Folens', is allowing parents and teachers to access their digital resources on FolensOnline.ie. 1. Click 'register'. 2. Select 'teacher'. 3. Fill in a username, email and password. 4. For roll number, enter the code Prim20. Another good website for maths games is : https://www.multiplication.com/games/all-games
The following attached resources may be useful.
Above all else, I hope you and your families are keeping safe and healthy.
The following link might be useful to access some free resources for children to use.
Here is a link to the music programme we use in class. This link will give you free parental access to the lessons.

Please visit the news section of our school website to view the principal's letter to parents dated 30th March 2020. This letter details the online distance learning portal Seesaw, which Realt na Mara intends to use if schools remain closed after the Easter Holiday period. This is an entirely optional service available to all parents. It can facilitate the uploading of any work that your child completes at home for his teacher to view and comment on etc. If you would like to opt in, could you please send me an email () specifying that you give consent for your child to be signed up to Seesaw using the email address you provided me with earlier this week.
I hope you are all keeping well.
